Regional Manager, Southwest
Jean Sample has been a part of Sports World’s mission to encourage positive choices since 1985, after meeting Sports World founder Doc Eshleman and assistant Janet Schrecengost in the basement of her church. After hearing the mission, Jean was hired as a receptionist to support the staff. Since that time, Jean’s job has expanded and changed multiple times.
Currently, Jean serves as the Southwest Regional Manager and is also the Trainer for new Sports World team members. Minus a 4-year hiatus with her husband’s retirement, Jean has been with Sports World from the beginning. “I know I am serving the Lord with my life’s occupation,” shares Jean. “There is a saying: ‘God does not call the qualified; He qualifies those whom He calls.’ That’s exactly what God has done with my life! I know I am a part of something BIG.”
Prior to serving at Sports World, Jean worked at a coal mining engineering firm for 5 years and was a stay-at-home mom for 2 years. Jean also attended Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee for 2 years. Jean is married to Sam and they live in Ocala, FL. Jean and Sam have 6 children and 14 grandchildren. When she is not serving at Sports World, Jean loves to cook, read, quilt, and go for walks.
