Personal Story: As I was growing up, I wanted fame, fortune, and popularity. I thought these would give me the peace and happiness that I was looking for and basketball was the tool to bring them into my life. How wrong I was. After accomplishing my dream of becoming a professional basketball player, my dream turned into a nightmare. After only one year, I found myself friendless and tormented by a lot of bad memories and regrets. I had become the person that I had always said I would not become. The best thing that basketball did for me was to reveal to me that I was incomplete. On December 2, 1990, I made the best decision of my life. I decided to put my trust in Christ. Since then, I have been able to find the peace and happiness that I wanted all along!
