Jack W. Lowry, age 90, of Joplin, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at his home. Born December 19, 1933 in Carthage, MO, Jack was known for his giving spirit and entrepreneurial drive.

Growing up in Joplin, Jack graduated from Joplin High School in 1952 and went on to establish himself as a successful businessman. From starting as a typewriter repairman to founding and managing his own company, Lowry Tri-State Office Equipment, Jack’s commitment to the customer was evident through every endeavor, and anyone who encountered him. Co-founding US Telecom, Jack introduced innovative notification solutions to K-12 schools alt across the nation and Canada. Beyond his professional achievements, Jack’s generosity knew no bounds. Through his philanthropic efforts, he raised funds for local organizations such as Life Choices and Sports World International where he arranged motivational talks by former NFL players for students. Countless individuals and families benefited from Jack’s kindness and compassion, making him a beloved figure in the community.

He was a devote Christian and member of First Baptist Church of Joplin, where he served as a deacon and trustee for many years. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, and a brother, Robert Lowry.

Jack is survived by his children, Kent and wife Carmel, Lisa and her husband Mike, and his youngest son, Bruce, grandchildren, Christian Riesenmy, Hailey Satterfield and her husband Drew, and a great-granddaughter, Ivy, and a brother, Jon Lowry and wife Vicky.

A funeral service honoring Jack’s life wilt be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Pastor Jamie Tickel officiating. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with loved ones and honored individuals serving as pallbearers.

The Lowry family will receive friends at First Baptist Church on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
